Auxiliary President's:

Time is running out for your members who have not paid their 2011 dues.  Have you and your membership team contacted these members by phone or mail or maybe just a knock on their door. Have you reminded them that their dues run from January 1^st to December 31^st?

If the member has not paid their dues by January 1, 2011 that they are no longer a member in good standing. If they should be an officer in your Auxiliary they cannot attend a meeting, this goes for all members.

Also if a member comes down with cancer and needs a Cancer Grant from National they must be a member for a full year to receive one. Or if a parent or grandparent has a child that wishes to apply for one of the VFW/VFWA Scholarships this also applies. As President it is your obligation to see that your members are aware of these rules.

Let's all get together and make this the year that every member is aware of this, and make it our aim to be 100% in our Auxiliaries and the Department. Our Department President Janice Butterworth needs all our support to get her night out on the town; she must reach 90% by December 31^st 2010.

I know how Patriotic that the West is, that we will stand together and "Be United By Love for our Veterans and Country” and show "Our Strength Lies in Unity." A drawing will be held at the February Council Meeting in Raleigh for the Auxiliaries who reach 100% by December 31^st 2010; also a drawing for the Treasurers who’s Auxiliaries reach 100% by December 31^st 2010. Their will two winners in each category for $10.00.

The West has caught up but we are not in front yet, send out those letters dial up those numbers send emails and knock on doors, let's go into the New Year number 1.
