Dear Auxiliaries,

To the treasurer's who worked so hard in 2010 to achieve 100% plus, Thank
You.  To the one’s who were so close thank you, and keep on working on the Auxiliaries who only like a few. The Department needs your membership.

 

It is the time of year, January 1st when our National Leaders will be speaking to the Leaders in Washington, DC. As we all know numbers counts in Washington.  As an organization the Veterans of Foreign Wars, we want all the entitlements that has been earn by our Veterans be secured and may other benefits be added.

 

When I check the list four Auxiliaries have folded in the Western Area and others are struggling, District President it is up to you to find out the problems and get help for these Auxiliaries. Be sure that the Auxiliaries that we lost that the members are transferred into other Auxiliaries.  Our members are getting older and are on fixed income, please help them pay their dues; this can come from your Relief Fund.

Ladies, our 2010 membership year is coming to an end.  We need to increase our efforts to collect dues from Annual members who have not yet paid their 2011 dues.  They will cease to be members in good standing on January 1^st. and will not be in good standing again until dues are paid.  Send out dues notices and make phone call to remind members that it is important to keep their membership current.

 

As of November 12^th. the Department was 79.28% in membership.  We need to reach 90% by December 31^st. for President Janice to get her “Night on the Town” when she goes to Mid Year Conference in February.  I believe that we would all like for her to have that.

 

Central Area Ladies, the East has taken over the lead again!  The West still thinks it is the best and is working to be #1.  I am convinced that the #1 spot should be ours.  We just need to collect dues from a few more members and recruit a few new ones.   “Our Strength Lies in Unity”, by working together we can achieve our goals.

 

Congratulations to the 8 Auxiliaries who are 100% or more.

Auxiliary President's:

Time is running out for your members who have not paid their 2011 dues.  Have you and your membership team contacted these members by phone or mail or maybe just a knock on their door. Have you reminded them that their dues run from January 1^st to December 31^st?

 

If the member has not paid their dues by January 1, 2011 that they are no longer a member in good standing. If they should be an officer in your Auxiliary they cannot attend a meeting, this goes for all members.

 

Also if a member comes down with cancer and needs a Cancer Grant from National they must be a member for a full year to receive one. Or if a parent or grandparent has a child that wishes to apply for one of the VFW/VFWA Scholarships this also applies. As President it is your obligation to see that your members are aware of these rules.

Let's all get together and make this the year that every member is aware of this, and make it our aim to be 100% in our Auxiliaries and the Department. Our Department President Janice Butterworth needs all our support to get her night out on the town; she must reach 90% by December 31^st 2010.

 

I know how Patriotic that the West is, that we will stand together and "Be United By Love for our Veterans and Country” and show "Our Strength Lies in Unity." A drawing will be held at the February Council Meeting in Raleigh for the Auxiliaries who reach 100% by December 31^st 2010; also a drawing for the Treasurers who’s Auxiliaries reach 100% by December 31^st 2010. Their will two winners in each category for $10.00.

 

The West has caught up but we are not in front yet, send out those letters dial up those numbers send emails and knock on doors, let's go into the New Year number 1.

HELP HELP HELP OUR SAD LEPRCHURN

 

At this writing, the Dept is not 80% in membership. We all need to work very hard to collect our continuous member’s dues.  We need to recruit new member and reinstate old members. What would really be great is reaching 100% before 31 Dec, 2010. Let’s try to reach this goal of 100% and make our Dept. President stand out.

 

National Award

 

1. Special Award to VFW Post members that sign up 3 New/Reinstated Auxiliary Members.  Form is Available from Dept. Membership Chrm.

 

DISTRICT PRESIDENT –

 

At this time I have 2 District that have reach 90% plus – District 7 & 15.  Each District President that reaches 90% will receive a Green Fairy. Congratulations!!!!  I know that the rest of you will make it soon.  Remember that when you reach 100% you will also get a Red Fairy.

 

If you have an Auxiliary that is having trouble collecting dues or other problems, PLEASE contact Dept Pres., or Chief of Staff or myself for help.

 

AUXILIARY PRESIDENT’S

 

Auxiliary President – Don’t wait until the last minute to have our membership committee contact you membership to collect dues or recruit new members. The holidays are upon us.  If you need help, please contact me.

If the Department reaches 100% before the 30 Jan, 2011, everyone at the Winter C of A will have a chance to throw a pie in our Dept President & Dept. Membership Chairman Face.

THANK YOU ALL   Ladies, we won $100.00 for achieving 60% at the National Convention.  Also we received $500.00 to be used for our Dept. President to attend the Status of Liberty Celebration at the end of Oct. Now down to the business at hand.

 

We are wanted to reach 70% in the Dept by 30 Sept, 2010; this will give us $100.00 for our budget.  We also want to reach 75% before 31 Oct, 2010 for another $100.00 for our budget.

 

What would really be great is reaching 80% before 31 Oct, 2010.  That would give us $300.00 instead of $100.00 so the Dept can defray membership/recruiting expenses.

 

Please make those phone calls to your Sisters that have not paid there Dues yet.  It gets hard the closer to the Holiday to collect those Dues.  Don’t just ask for their dues.  Ask how they are doing and if there is anything you can do for them.  Also let them know what Your Auxiliary has with upcoming event.

 

Treasurer’s – Look through your membership card of people that have not paid the dues.  Give them a call.  Ask if you can help.  Tell them how important they are to the Auxiliary.  We lose a lot of members because we don’t make contact with them

 

National Award

1. Two drawings of $250.00 each for Auxiliaries achieving 100% in membership with transmittal to be received at National Headquarters by 31 August, 2010.

 

2. Auxiliary’s 10-75 members, they will receive $75.00 from National if 100% reported to National by 30 Sept, 2010.

 

3. Auxiliaries 76 – 150 members, they will receive $75.00 from National if 100% reported to National by 31 Oct, 2010.

 

Special Prize – Turn in to me by the Fall C of A the number of sisters that will be Dept Aide-de-Camp at the State convention June 2011. If several sisters are correct, the names will go in the hat for the prize.

 

HELP HELP HELP WE HAVE A SAD LEPRCHURN

 Let’s make him HAPPY at the Fall C of A and be 75%.  You will see him and our Dept President do the Jig.  You don’t what to miss that.

 

PLEASE DON’T HOLD DUES.  IF YOU GET SOME DUES IN A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE FALL C OF A, PLEASE BRING THEM WITH YOU.

YEAH CENTRAL!!  You’re doing great, ladies.  The membership report dated September 18 shows that 3 Auxiliaries in our Central Area have attained 100% already.  Congratulations to Gibsonville, Mebane and

St. Pauls.  I am confidant that more will reach that goal by the time we go to the C of A. in October.  Each

Central Area Auxiliary, who achieves 100% by Sept 30^th, will be entered in a drawing for $20.00. So far we

know we have 3 entries.  Come on, RED!  We want more than 3 names in the hat.          Later, Ida
