Lynn's Seasonal Message

Posted at 10:16 PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 by ladiesdist16

Season’s Greetings, Sisters of the Department of North Carolina, and welcome to your new Department Website!  As you can see, it is the form of a versatile Weblog, and can be used for many purposes.  It is based on the same model of the very successful VFW Weblog System, maintained and operated by Policlicks.com and utilized by a dozen VFW Departments across the country.  And not only have we secured this Department Website/Weblog, but Policlicks is offering a similar site to every individual District Auxiliary and Post Auxiliary, all for FREE!  You will all be receiving instructions soon on how to claim your own free site.

As 2009 draws to a close, the Department Ladies Auxiliary membership percentage is very close to 90%, which is our goal to achieve by December 31.  And it is an achievable goal!  It only takes us gathering in a few more Sisters to make this great milestone.  Everybody please just take a few minutes out of your busy holiday schedules, and contact a sister who has not paid her 2010 dues.  After we reach this milestone, we will have six more months to gain only 10+%!

I want to thank all the Auxiliaries that have been working so hard with their Posts in the joint recruiting effort pioneered by State Commander Bill Sloan and myself.  Posts and Auxiliaries have participated in many fairs, festivals, and events, and signed up many new Comrades and Sisters.  If your Auxiliary has not yet discovered a fair/festival/event to recruit at with your post, please go out and find one.  There are many listed on the internet, and your local Chamber of Commerce or tourism office will know of any in your area.

Lastly, I want to wish everybody a wonderful holiday season.  Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, or Kwanzaa (or even all three!), I hope that you have a very Merry one!  Thank you for the grand support you have all shown me in 2009.  I know it will be even stronger in 2010!
