Sisters, Fall is here and we need to start thinking about the weather changes
coming, which will mean "warmer clothing" for our Hospitalized Veterans. If we
start early ladies, we will be ready for "OLD MAN WINTER" Right?
But before I give you our new wish list, I would like to tell you we will be
honored at our meeting, at the CofA, Oct.9th with a guest speaker being, Ms
NORMA FRASER, Director of Volunteer Services. Fayetteville VA. Medical Center,
so Please try to attend our meeting. She is a Special Lady & Friend to our
Volunteers & Veterans.
Speaking of Volunteers, We need them all the time, so I'm sure she,
(Norma) would be happy to give you the date for the next Orientation, but
without our Volunteers, the patients would go with out a lot of times. Let's
show them we are, "UNITED" by LOVE for OUR VETERANS & COUNTRY!! Please join
us,BE A VOLUNTEER!!
WISH LIST as follows:
Women's needs, Short sleeved shirts, sweat pants, T-shirts, sports bras &
underwear ALL SIZES for all items.
Athletic Socks for all.
MEN'S Needs, Underwear, Short-sleeve T-shirts,ALL SIZES
Dial or Suave Body wash for men
SPECIAL DONATIONS NEEDED:
Coloring Books, Small boxes of crayons, Golden Books, Teen Books, (Word Search)
Books, & Puzzel Books Regular & Large Print.
MONITARY DONATIONS, Are the same as they were in the last promotion.
Remember to make your checks payable to; VAVS & Mail to same address as in the
last promotion.
UP COMING EVENTS;
VAVS COUNTRY STORE, October 28th, 9-2PM, 3rd. floor Auditoruim (However do not
bring anything for sale until after Oct. 1st. NO CLOTHING)
VETERANS DAY PROGRAM, NOV.10th.
Ladies lets show "OUR STRENGHT LIES IN UNITY" by supporting our Veterans, no
matter where they are, VA Medical Center, Veterans Nursing Homes, Community
Hospitals,Other Nursing Homes or at Home. (Remember what they gave up for us &
our Country) GOD BLESS THEM & OUR COUNTRY!!
