DEPARTMENT OF NORTH CAROLINA

CANCER AID AND RESEARCH

NOVEMBER, 2010

 

I know that you were not expecting see me doing CANCER AID AND RESEARCH again.  I will be your Department Chairman for the remainder of this year.

 

First, I want to thank each of you that brought items for the table and thanks to all of you that purchased items from the table.  This is a very important part of our program as it is one of the ways we can make extra money for Cancer Aid and Research.

 

I hope all of you are working on your programs.  Be sure to look at the year-end report from so that you will know what is expected of you this year.

 

If you have any cancer pins, please sell them as this is also part of our program.  If you do not have any, contact me anytime and I will get them to you.  They are still $2.00 each and to date we still have a lot left.  Sisters, Janice and I need your help with this.

 

If you have not had a special program to promote cancer this year, please do so as our year is almost half over.  There is any number of things that you can do.  Pass out pamphlets about different types of cancer and their treatments.  You can ask a Doctor or Nurse that has knowledge of cancer to come to your meeting and speak to your members.  Some Auxiliaries have a Bingo game and all the proceeds are donated to Cancer Aid and Research.  You will be surprised at the number of people that will help.  All you need to do is ask.

 

I hope all of you have sent in your $2.00 per member as this in one our obligations.  The grant money that is paid to our sisters that are stricken with cancer comes from this money.

 

Remember to bring items for the cancer table to the next C of A meeting.
